The Board of Licensure of Podiatric medicine was established to protect the public through regulation of the practice of podiatry in the State of Maine by setting professional standards.
The primary responsibilities of the Board is to conduct examinations of candidates for licensure to practice podiatry, to verify credentials of applicants, to license and renew upon documentation of continuing education activities, to conduct hearings and investigations upon receipt of complaints pertaining to podiatry.
Effective March 1, 2019, the Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR) will no longer issue paper license verifications. License verifications are available, free of charge, on OPOR’s official database, https://www.pfr.maine.gov/ALMSOnline/ALMSQuery/Welcome.aspx?board=4400. This database is updated in real time as changes occur. The Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation considers this information to be a secure, primary source for license verification.
