Developing the substance use prevention workforce in Maine is a priority and an important part of ensuring initiatives are high-quality and evidence-based. Recertification requires regular ethics training hours and training hours related to the field.

Required Training

The Maine Immunization Program requires that all VFC enrolled providers complete the Vaccines For Children Training below on an annual basis. This is required for both the primary and secondary vaccine coordinators.

Any NEW vaccine coordinators MUST also complete the Vaccines for Children Training.

Improving Immunization Rates

Immunization, or vaccination rates measure the percent of people who received recommended vaccines. Tracking vaccination rates help to assess how well communities are protected against vaccine preventable diseases. Providers, schools, and community partners can use this information to take action and improve vaccination rates in their community.

The Maine CDC Immunization Program reviews state and national data to assess and improve immunization rates, identify populations at risk, and measure the impact of current initiatives.
