Sexually Transmitted Diseases

The Maine STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) Program is a federally funded state program responsible for activities pertaining to the reportable STDs: chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Additionally, the STD program works closely with the HIV/AIDS Programs to assist with specific follow-up activities related to HIV and AIDS.

Diseases

Maine CDC works to strengthen the State's capacity to prevent and respond to emerging infectious disease, reduce chronic disease risk factors, and monitors and provides information on animal-borne and vector-borne diseases. Find data and reports on the following pages.

Water

All public water systems in Maine are required to regularly sample and test their water to ensure that it meets federal and state drinking water standards and is safe to drink. Without proper and timely sampling and testing, the quality of the water being served cannot be ensured.
