- Are Title Applications (MVT-2) online?
- No, the MVT-2 is a carbon copy form and can only be found at your local BMV Branch, Town Hall or Municipal office.
- How long does it take for me to get my title?
- These times reflect receipt of an accurately completed application by the Title Division and exclude mailing time.

- I just received my title from my bank, with a letter to contact my BMV to get a clean title. What do I need to do?
- Nothing. As long as the title you received has a signature and date showing the lien has been released, you have a free and clear title.
- If you would like to get a new title without the lienholder listed, you can apply for a new title with the $33.00 title application fee.
- Does Maine BMV recognize wills for the transfer of a vehicle title?
- We do not accept copies of wills for vehicle title transfers.
- Once a personal representative (executor) has been appointed by the probate court, the personal representative is responsible for overseeing the distribution of the estate, including any vehicles.

- You can request a duplicate title one of two ways: You can use the Online Duplicate Title service or you can complete an MVT-8 and mail it in.
