Notice to Lobster Industry from DMR Commissioner Regarding Important Survey

Dear Lobster Industry Member:

This summer, the Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR) and the Lobster Advisory Council (LAC) are conducting a survey of all lobster industry harvesters and dealers to collect input on Maine’s lobster resource and fishery. A paper copy of the survey has been sent to the mailing address we have on file for you, along with a prepaid envelope for you to use to return the survey to DMR.

Marine Patrol Recovers Body from Kennebec River

Bath - The body of a male was recovered by the Maine Marine Patrol yesterday at 6 p.m. from the shore of Woods Island in the Kennebec River. The body will be transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for examination and confirmation of identification.

The body was spotted by good Samaritans on Crawford Island shortly before 6 p.m., who called 911 to report it. Woods Island is a short distance from Crawford Island in the Kennebec River. 

Maine Marine Patrol Searching Kennebec River for Augusta Man

Bath - The Maine Marine Patrol is resuming a search today in the Kennebec River near Bath for Robert Stolt, 22 of Augusta, who was fishing yesterday when he attempted to rescue his dog, which had jumped in the river from Stolt's 23-foot boat near Lines Island.

Marine Patrol was notified of the incident yesterday at 2:10 p.m. after a witness called 911 to report seeing two people in the water.
