Drug Trafficking Arrest in Turner

Drug Trafficking Turner, drugs, cashOn Monday, April 26, 2021, around 11:45 a.m., an investigation began by the Maine State Police (Troop B) in Turner.  

The interaction started with an individual at B & A Variety in Turner following a suspicious incident nearby. The encounter revealed that the driver, Winston Mcleod (27) was suspended, out of Oregon. 

Further investigation revealed that he had a large amount of cocaine in his jacket pocket. When he was informed by the Trooper that he was being arrested, Mcleod fled on foot. A foot chase ensued which ended with a safe and successful apprehension. Members from Troop B came to assist with further investigation. 

The investigation revealed Mcleod had 1,102 grams of cocaine in the car. Also seized in the stop was $1,446 in suspected drug proceeds. McLeod was arrested and charged with three counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule Drugs (Class A), Refusing to Submit to Arrest (Class E), Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License (Class E), and Asset Forfeiture. 

Mcleod was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail and bail was set at $25,000.
 

Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Drug Charges

Drugs and CurrencyOn Oct. 1, 2020, at approximately 1:52 a.m., Troop C Troopers stopped a vehicle for several motor vehicle violations to include speed and defective equipment on I-95 in Augusta. 

During the traffic stop, Troopers identified several indicators of criminal activity, and a drug-sniffing K9 was requested to the scene, who subsequently indicated to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. A search was conducted of the vehicle and it’s passengers and Troopers located $6,485.00 in assorted cash, 69 grams of Heroin, 63 grams of crack cocaine, 1 gram of cocaine, and nearly a half a pound of assorted Oxycodone and Xanax pills pre-packaged for sale. 

Troopers arrested John Wesley Clement (22) of Bangor and charged him with two counts of Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs, Class A felonies, Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule Z Drugs, a Class C Felony, Failing to Give Correct Name and Date of Birth, and Violating Conditions of Release, a Class C Felony. Also arrested was Mollie Robichaud (19) of Brewer and charged with two counts of Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs, Class A Felonies, and Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule Z Drug, a Class C Felony. 

Waldo County Arrests

The Maine State Police arrest 16 people in Waldo County for various offenses over the course of a week’s-long investigation. Troopers culminated the investigation with the execution of a search warrant in Northport.

On Sept. 14, 2020, Maine State Police executed a Search Warrant at 175 Rocky Road in the Town of Northport.  The warrant came at the conclusion of a week-long investigation in Waldo County resulting in the arrest of 16 individuals for various charges including but not limited to Trafficking in Schedule drugs, Possession of Methamphetamine, Heroin Possession, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Violation of Conditions of release.  The State Police were assisted by our State, Local and County partners in these endeavors with Waldo County Sheriff’s Department present and participating at the execution of the search warrant on September 14 in Northport.

NY Men Facing Drug Trafficking Charges

Drug SeizureThree men from New York are facing drug trafficking charges after they threw baggies of drugs out of the car after being stopped by police.

On Aug. 16, 2020, at approximately 3 p.m., Maine State Police stopped a vehicle on I-295 at mile marker 44 Northbound for speed. Upon investigation, all three passengers began acting suspiciously. Ultimately, several white bags were thrown from the car window while the Trooper went back to his cruiser. The bags were located and seized and all three men were arrested. Ralph Scurlock, 31; William Pickney, 52; and Edward McDowell, 26; all from the Bronx, NY, were transported to Twin Bridges Jail in Sagadahoc County. The drugs were tested and Troopers learned there was 34 grams of cocaine, and 148 grams of fentanyl. All three were charged with Aggravated Trafficking class A crime.

Standish Men Charged with Drug Trafficking

Shawn Adams Drugs BustTwo Standish men are facing charges after failing to stop for police, with one fleeing into the woods prior to arrest.

On Aug. 7, 2020, Cpl. Jesse Duda attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a speeding vehicle in the construction zone near mile marker 10 northbound. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit was terminated when Tr. Welch covertly deployed a spike mat at mile 26.5.

The vehicle pulled over and the driver fled into the woods. The passenger, Stephen Tracy, 40, surrendered and was placed under arrest without incident. York PD officer John Rogers arrived with his K9 and began a track.

Cpl. Duda assisted Ofc. Rogers on the track. The operator, Shawn Adams, 42, was located ¾ of a mile into the woods near a river bank.

Located inside the trunk of the vehicle was 86 grams of fentanyl, 22.5 xanax pills, 11 grams of suspected cocaine, and 2 grams of suspected crystal meth. Adams was also on bail conditions and had a suspended license.

Adams and Tracy were both charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs. Adams was also charged with Eluding an Officer, Criminal Speed and Violations of Conditions of Release.

Man Arrested on Drug Trafficking

An area man is facing charges for felony drug trafficking after a traffic stop in Augusta.

On March, 3, 2020, Troopers from the Troop C Barracks out of Skowhegan stopped a pick-up truck for a registration violation in Augusta. Immediately upon arriving at the driver’s side door of the vehicle, signs of criminal activity were noted as well as indications of the operator being impaired by alcohol.

Accordingly, the driver was removed from the vehicle and K-9 Tess was summoned for a vehicle search. Shortly thereafter, the driver was arrested for Unlawful Trafficking in Scheduled W Drugs for possessing 1.9 ounces of cocaine, as well as Operating Under the Influence (OUI). As of 03/04/2020 the matter is still under active investigation, therefore no names will be released at this time.Drugs

Bangor Drug Bust

Bangor DrugsBANGOR, Maine- Police arrested a Brewer man for aggravated drug trafficking after a traffic stop on Union Street.  On Nov. 15, Maine State Troopers and Bangor Police Officers stopped a vehicle after identifying Terrence Robinson, 27, a known fugitive wanted in Maine on several drug trafficking charges get into the passenger seat.  Robinson had been on the run after warrants for his arrest were issued in 2016 after he failed to appear in court for Unlawful Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs and Violation of Conditional Release.  

As a result of the investigation, police located 99 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl mixture and 67 grams of suspected cocaine base on Robinson.  Robinson was arrested for Aggravated Drug Trafficking and Violation of Conditional Release and is currently being held at the Penobscot County Jail.

Bowdoinham Drug Trafficking

An Orono man is facing drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Bowdoinham over the weekend.

On Nov. 11, 2019 ,Troopers from Troop D performed a Traffic stop in Bowdoinham on I-295 of a vehicle headed south bound out of State operated by Terrel Walker, 28, originally from New York and now residing in Orono.  

Troopers learned that Walker was the subject of an outstanding Federal Arrest Warrant related to a drug trafficking arrest by Maine State Police PACE Team members in August of 2019. Walker was also found to be in possession of over 15 pounds of Marijuana, packaged for commercial sale; $2,000 in cash; and a quantity of unmarked and unlabeled pills. The identification of the pills are pending a laboratory analysis.  The marijuana is valued at $30,000.

Walker was arrested and charged with Class C Unlawful Trafficking of Marijuana and Class C Bail Violation.  Also, in the vehicle was Eimel Evans, 25 ,of Augusta.  Evans was arrested for a separate outstanding arrest warrant. Troopers were assisted on scene by Topsham Police MarijuanaDepartment.
 

Scarborough Traffic Stops Leads to Multiple People Charged with Drug Trafficking

DrugsSCARBOROUGH, Maine - A traffic stop ended up with several men being charged with aggravated drug trafficking.

On Oct. 22, 2019 Maine State Police Troopers from Troop G stopped a vehicle on the Maine Turnpike for a traffic infraction. As a result of the investigation, three men were arrested: Benjamin Peaslee, 41, of Manchester, Maine; Todd Moses (AKA “T”), 50, of Hyde Park, Massachusetts; Gary Richardson, 42, (AKA “BAMA”) of Eutaw, Alabama; and a Massachusetts resident who cannot be identified at this time.

Troopers seized 842 diverted Gabapentin Tablets, 13 gram of a suspected heroin/fentanyl mixture, and 5 grams of cocaine base.

All occupants were booked at the Cumberland County Jail for aggravated trafficking. Bail was set at 50k.
