FEMA Local Hazard Mitigation Training - Maine January 2025
Join us online for the FEMA Local Hazard Mitigation Training happening this January 2025!
Training will be held over two days from 9am -3pm BOTH Thursday and Friday.
We will cover all the sub-requirements with special attention to identifying vulnerabilities, developing strong mitigation actions and emphasizing the link between the two. We will also review the details of working through multi-jurisdictional plans. Overall topics will include:
- Introduction to Local Mitigation Planning Policy Guide Effective April 11, 2025
- Planning Process – Organize and Engage
- Risk Assessment - Hazard Identification
- Risk Assessment – Impacts
- Mitigation Strategy
- Plan Maintenance and Updates: Keeping the Plan Current
- Plan Implementation: Adopting and Implementing the Mitigation Plan
We encourage attendance of the LUPC, Tribes, Regional Planning Commission, Contractors/Consultants, Special Districts, County and Community planning representatives.
