Overnight Ramp Closures in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK – The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing the northbound off ramp to Route 196 West and the southbound off ramp to Cooks Corner overnight on October 26, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM to install bridge expansion joints and conduct shoulder paving. Closures and detours will be clearly marked with signs and cones. The closure will last for one night.

Drivers traveling northbound to Route 196 West will need to use the next exit to Cooks Corner. At Cooks Corner, drivers will need to turn around to head on to Route 1 South to get to Route 196 West.

MaineDOT Announces Upcoming Closures and Detours for the Western Avenue Bridge Project

AUGUSTA – The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing several roadway ramps and approaches in Augusta starting on October 20 through November 1. These closures are part of the bridge replacement and roadway rehabilitation project. The project work includes excavation, pavement milling, drainage installation, gravel installation, and electrical line installation. These closures are weather dependent, and dates may be subject to change. Drivers should expect delays and follow all posted detours and signage.

Overnight Ramp Closures in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK – The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing the Route 196 East on ramp to Route 1 North and the southbound off ramp to Route 196 West in Brunswick overnight on October 15, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM for maintenance. Closures will be clearly marked with signs and cones. The closure will last for one night.

Drivers traveling from Route 196 East to Route 1 North should head southbound on the Frank J. Wood Bridge to access Route 1 North.

Overnight Route 1 Northbound Ramp Closure in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK – The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing the Route 1 northbound on ramp from Route 196 (Topsham Connector) in Brunswick overnight on October 9, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM for paving. Closures will be clearly marked with signs and cones. The closure will last for one night.

Drivers traveling from Route 196 and Route 201 to Route 1 North should stay on Main Street, cross the Frank J. Wood Bridge, and use Mason Street to access the Route 1 North on ramp.

Nightwork on I-295 over Route 1

YARMOUTH – The Maine Department of Transportation will be reducing both northbound and southbound traffic on I-295 to a single lane between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM, beginning Sunday, October 12, at 8:00 PM. The lane reduction is necessary to install rumble strips along the highway. The nightwork may be conducted a second evening if necessary. MaineDOT will provide updates on the project as needed. 

The contractor on this project is CPM Constructors. The contract amount is $27,566,209.72.

Overnight Ramp Closures in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK – The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing three ramps in Brunswick overnight on October 8, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The southbound off ramp to Cooks Corner, the southbound off ramp to Route 196 West, and the northbound on ramp to Route 1 North from Cooks Corner will be closed for maintenance. Closures will be clearly marked with signs and cones. The closure will last for one night.

Brunswick Overnight Ramp Closures for Cooks Corner

BRUNSWICK – The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing two ramps in Brunswick overnight on October 7, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The off ramps from Route 1 Southbound and Route 1 Northbound leading to Cooks Corner will be closed for maintenance. Closures will be clearly marked with signs and cones.

Drivers traveling northbound to Cooks Corner will have to access it from Maine Street to connect to Route 24.

Drivers traveling southbound to Cooks Corner will have to use the previous exit to take New Meadow Road to connect to Bath Road to reach Cooks Corner.
