Route 113 in Fryeburg Upcoming Closure

FRYEBURG – The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting work on Route 113 in the area South of Corn Shop Road in Fryeburg, Maine from October 6 to October 10. Motorists should follow the posted detour signs and should reference the detour map for the project. This work is for a culvert replacement project performed by Maintenance and Operations.

MaineDOT Announces Upcoming Weekend Closure of I-95 Exit 185 in Bangor

BANGOR – The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing the I-95 Northbound Exit 185 off ramp to Broadway in Bangor from Friday, October 3 at 8 P.M. to Monday, October 6 at 5 A.M. 

A detour will be in place for the duration of the planned weekend closure directing vehicles to Exit 186 Stillwater Ave.  Drivers should then follow detour signs directing vehicles down Stillwater Ave to Broadway. Message boards will be in place alerting drivers of the upcoming closure.

Traffic Light Installation on Route 1

EDGECOMB – As of September 15, the Maine Department of Transportation began work at the intersection of Route 1, Cochran Road, and Cross Road. 

Crews will remove the existing flashing beacons and install a new full traffic signal system. 

This work will also include a lighted “Red Light Ahead” sign on the northbound Route 1 approach, stamped pavement, and new pavement markings. 

Work is expected to be completed by September 25.

Frank J. Wood Bridge Update

Brunswick/Topsham, ME — The upcoming closure of the Frank J. Wood Bridge is on schedule to begin by 12:00 p.m. Monday, September 22.

The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will close the Frank J. Wood Bridge to northbound traffic for a period of 89 consecutive days (excluding national holidays).

During this time, northbound traffic traveling from Brunswick to Topsham will be detoured via the Topsham Bypass and Route 196.

Portland Intersection Work on Brighton Avenue and Park Avenue

PORTLAND – The Maine Department of Transportation will begin work on intersections in Portland, Maine on September 2 for a mill and fill project with drainage and pedestrian safety improvements. The project area begins at the intersection Woodford Street and Brighton Avenue. The project area ends at the intersection of Deering Avenue and Park Avenue. Work is expected to be completed by June 2026.

During construction this roadway will be reduced to one-way alternating traffic. 

This may impact commuter times during the construction period.
