Paving of New Bridge Means Potential Traffic Delays at Martin?s Point

PORTLAND ? CPM Constructors will be restricting traffic to one alternating lane of traffic starting Wednesday, June 4 through Tuesday June 10th (excluding Saturday and Sunday) in order to begin paving operations on the new Martin?s Point Bridge. This work is weather-dependent. The work will begin at 7 a.m. and continue through until 7 p.m. CPM does not expect significant delays, but travelers who do not want to be subjected to any potential delay should find alternate routes.

Paving to Re-Start on Broadway in South Portland

South Portland ? Crews will be back paving Broadway in South Portland this Friday, June 6th.

Paving will take place on Broadway between Route 1 and Cash Corner to Westbrook Street (Route 9). Westbound traffic will be detoured at Cash Corner and sent south on Route 1 to Westbrook Street from 7 a.m. to approximately 6 p.m.

If there is inclement weather, the paving and the detour will take place on Saturday, June 7th.

Union Street Bridge Replacement Construction Schedule

Bangor ? Crews will be working on Interstate 95 during the overnight hours on the Union Street Bridge. This work involves closing one lane of traffic on the interstate to allow for construction to take place safely between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. In addition there will be full interstate closures between the hours of 9:00 pm. and 5 a.m. northbound and 10:00 p.m. and 6 a.m. southbound. The current schedule for the week of June 9th is as follows:

Work to Begin on I-95 Northbound in Newport

Newport ? Paving work begins this week on Interstate 95 northbound at Exit 157 in Newport and extends 13.3 miles.

Motorists should allow extra time with reduced speeds and one lane of travel through the work zones. Ramp closures throughout the project will happen between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. with a 72 hour notice via message boards on the interstate.

Work includes pavement milling, hot mix overlay as well as drainage improvements. In addition, there will be guardrail repairs and tree cutting and clearing along both sides of the interstate to provide a safer buffer area.

Paving Operations to Start on Route 77 in Cape Elizabeth

Cape Elizabeth ? A paving operation begins this week on Route 77 (Bowery Beach Road) in Cape Elizabeth.

The operations will start at 40 Bowery Beach Road (at the Inn By The Sea hotel) extending approximately 1.3 miles. Motorists can expect lane closures with alternating one-way traffic.

It is anticipated all work will be completed during the first week of July.

This $381,000 project is being performed by F.R. Carroll, Inc. of Limerick.

Full Reconstruction of River Road in Windham

Windham ? Full reconstruction of the River Road in Windham is underway. The reconstruction is from the intersection of River Road and Route 202 to the intersection of River Road and Page Road.

Motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the occasional Saturday.

Work includes reconstruction of this stretch of road along with tree removal, clearing, drainage improvements, water main relocation and the construction of a roundabout at Windham Center Road and River Road.

Highway Preservation Work in Northern Aroostook County

Augusta ? Crews will be performing crack sealing operations on specific roads throughout northern Aroostook County beginning on Monday, June 16th.

Temporary travel lane closures are anticipated during daylight hours Monday through Saturday. Traffic will be maintained during working hours by way of alternating one-way travel through the work zones. Work zones will be delineated as necessary with cones and other traffic control devices and maintained by flaggers.
