Traffic Sensor Work on I-95 in Sidney

SIDNEY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be working on traffic sensors on I-95 in Sidney from Monday, July 20th through Tuesday, July 28th. These sensors allow MaineDOT to accurately count the number of vehicles using this part of the interstate throughout the year. The project area is 0.7 mile north of the Lyons Road Overpass in Sidney. This work will require some interstate lane closures. Those closures will happen on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. No work will happen on Friday, July 24th or during the weekend.

Overnight Ramp Closures on Route 1 in Bath

BATH - The Maine Department of Transportation will be paving ramps along Route 1 in Bath during overnight hours this week. Between 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21st and 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd, we will be paving the Route 1 northbound off-ramps at High Street and Congress Avenue. Between 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23rd, we will be paving the Route 1 southbound off-ramp at Congress Avenue and the northbound State Road on-ramp. Like all outside construction work, this schedule is weather-dependent.

Bridge Replacement in Windham Will Require River Road Closure

WINDHAM - Beginning on Monday, July 27th, the Maine Department of Transportation will be closing part of River Road in Windham for ten days to accommodate bridge replacement work. We are replacing Doles Bridge, which carries River Road over Colley Wright Brook. The project area is one-third of a mile west of Alweber Road. Traffic from Windham to Westbrook will be detoured to Routes 25, 237, and 202. The detour length is approximately nine miles. The contractor, Shaw Brothers Construction of Gorham, will be placing detour signs this week.

Knox County Paving Projects

KNOX COUNTY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be doing paving work along Routes 73 and 131 in Knox County. Work is scheduled to begin on July 30th and be finished by September 25th. Paving work on Route 73 beings at the Rockland town line and extends more than two miles south through Owls Head and into South Thomaston. The Route 131 project area begins at Port Clyde Road in Saint George and extends north for nearly ten miles through South Thomaston, ending at Route 1 in Thomaston. Work will occur during daytime hours.

Interstate Striping

CUMBERLAND, SAGADAHOC, KENNEBEC, AND PENOBSCOT COUNTIES - The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting interstate road striping operations between July 29th and September 1st. This work will be done between the hours of 6:00 p.m .and 6:00 a.m. and will require rolling lane closures. This work will involve nearly 69 miles on I-295 (from Yarmouth to Gardiner), nearly 38 miles on I-95 (from Gardiner to Waterville), and nearly ten miles on I-395 (from Bangor to Brewer). The contractor on this project is L & D Safety Marking Corporation of Farmingdale.

Overnight Ramp Closures on Route 1 in Bath

BATH - The Maine Department of Transportation will be doing overnight paving work on ramps along Route 1 in Bath early next week. Between 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26th and 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27th, crews will be paving the northbound off-ramp at Congress Avenue and the northbound on-ramp from State Road. The ramps need to be closed to conduct the paving operations due to the size of equipment and safety of the traveling public and workers.

More Overnight Ramp Closures on Route 1 in Bath

BATH - The Maine Department of Transportation has scheduled more overnight paving work on ramps along Route 1 in Bath for later this week. Between 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30th and 6:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31st, crews will be paving the northbound off-ramp at Congress Avenue, the northbound off-ramp at High Street, and the northbound on-ramp from State Road. The High Street ramp will remain open until the Congress Avenue off-ramp reopens. The ramps need to be closed during paving operations due to the size of the equipment and the safety of the traveling public and workers.

Route 25 Work in Gorham

GORHAM - The Maine Department of Transportation will be replacing a box culvert over Brandy Brook and making other improvements on Route 25 in Gorham. The project area begins 0.4 mile north of State Street and extends southeasterly for 0.3 miles. In addition to replacing the box culvert, we will also be installing new guardrail and doing paving work. Work is scheduled to begin on July 28th. Drivers should expect an alternating, single-lane traffic pattern between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from Monday through Saturday. The project will be suspended for the winter in late November.

Interstate Paving in Aroostook and Penobscot Counties

AROOSTOOK AND PENOBSCOT COUNTIES - Next week, the Maine Department of Transportation will begin interstate paving operations in Aroostook and Penobscot Counties. This work will span two years. Crews will be paving segments of the northbound side of I-95 (including some highway bridges and ramps) between Medway and Sherman. MaineDOT will also be paving and making other improvements to the Visitor Information Center in Medway and the Katahdin Scenic Overlook in T1 R6. MaineDOT will also be clearing the Sherman interchange to increase visibility to cut down on deer strikes.

Traffic Sensor Work on I-295 in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK - The Maine Department of Transportation is performing work on traffic count sensors on I-295 in Brunswick. These sensors allow MaineDOT to accurately count the number of vehicles using this highway throughout the year. This work involves lane closures on I-295 0.6 miles north of the overpass to Route 1. Lane closures are happening on weekday nights between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. We expect this work will be finished by the end of next week.
