Old Town Shooting

State Police say a man was shot and killed this morning in Old Town in an armed confrontation with troopers.  The incident took place outside a home on Bodwell Street on French Island . No police officers were injured. The State Police tactical team and negotiators were called to the home after Old Town Police requested assistance around midnight.  The shooting took place just before 9 AM.   As is the case with every officer involved shooting, the Maine Attorney General's Office will investigate the incident and they have sent a team of investigators to Old Town. 

Blue Hill Shooting Update

State Police say the victim of last night’s shooting in Blue Hill is 31 year old Joshua Clarke. He was shot outside his home at 646 Ellsworth Road. An autopsy was conducted today at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta. Detectives say the person who shot him has been identified and interviewed, and they continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting. No one has been charged.  

Millinocket Shooting Victim Dies

State Police say a 23 year old Millinocket man has died following a weekend shooting inside a home in Millinocket.   Cameron Pelkey died overnight at EMMC in Bangor where he had been treated since the shooting on Sunday.  An autopsy today at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta determined Pelkey died from a single  gunshot wound. Earlier this week, 45 year old Jason Mulligan was charged with aggravated attempted murder and made his first appearance in court.  Mulligan is being held at the Penobscot County Jail. State Police detectives continue to work with the Maine Attorney General's in the investigation.

Millinocket Shooting

State Police say a Bangor man has been charged in connection with a shooting inside a home in Millinocket Sunday afternoon where another man was seriously wounded.   45 year old Jason Mulligan was taken into custody Sunday evening by the State Police Tactical Team after they entered the home at 298 Penobscot Ave.  Millinocket Police responded to the house about 5 PM to find Mulligan had barricaded himself inside.  

The wounded man is in his 20’s and was taken to EMMC in Bangor by the Life Flight helicopter from Millinocket Regional Hospital during the night.  He suffered a serious gunshot wound and his name is not being released at this time.  The injured man, along with a man and woman, were rescued from the home after the tactical team entered it around 8 PM.  The man and woman freed were not injured. 

Mulligan is charged with aggravated attempted murder and was taken to the Penobscot County Jail. He likely will make his first court appearance either today or Tuesday.

WATERVILLE PRESS CONFERENCE AT 1 P.M.

Deputy Waterville Police Chief William Bonney will update reporters on yesterday's shooting in the city.  The press conference will take place outside the Waterville Police Dept. at 1 p.m.

WATERVILLE SHOOTING UPDATE

State and Waterville Police continue to investigate the shooting of a 7 year old girl in Waterville this afternoon.  The shooting was reported about 3:30 PM .  The girl was rushed to the Thayer Unit of MaineGeneral and then LifeFlighted to Maine Medical Center in Portland.  We continue to monitor her condition tonight and remain hopeful.   Police and evidence techs plan to work well into tonight to investigate the shooting and gather evidence from the second floor apartment on Summer St.  Additional information and an update is expected Saturday.   

WATERVILLE SHOOTING

State and Waterville Police are investigating the shooting of a young child in the city this afternoon. The girl was shot inside a home on Summer St.   The child was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral’s Thayer Unit in Waterville, as police investigate what happened. 

Scarborough Shooting Update

State and Scarborough Police continue to investigate the circumstances of last night's shooting in the Wal-Mart parking lot.   24 year old  Ryan Townsend of Saco is in critical condition at Maine Medical Center being treated for a gunshot wound.  Investigators say 24 year old Tyler Hish of Scarborough was questioned last night and released.  A woman who witnessed the shooting and knows both men also was questioned and she was also released. Investigators and evidence technicians were  on the scene until early this morning  and will be conducting more interviews today.

Scarborough Shooting

State and Scarborough Police are investigating the shooting of man in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Scarborough Friday evening.  The wounded man is being treated at Maine Medical Center. Two people are being questioned. The shooting was reported to police about 5:30PM.  The victim was shot outside his vehicle and a Scarborough Police Officer, who was inside Wal-Mart at the time, investigating another incident, was at the shooting scene in a couple of minutes, aided by officers from South Portland Police.  Investigators are now attempting to determine the circumstances of the shooting. 

Machias Shootings

State Police say one man is in custody following shootings in Washington County this morning, which took place in Machias and Jonesboro.  There are multiple victims. Troopers, Sheriff’s Deputies, Machias Police, the Maine Warden Service and the Maine Forestry Service all responded to the scenes.  State Police Lt. Troy Gardner will update reporters at 5 PM at the Washington Sheriff’s Office in Machias.
