Inspection to Begin on the Casco Bay Bridge

Portland ? Crews will be performing an in-depth inspection of the Casco Bay Bridge, which spans the Fore River connecting Portland and South Portland, beginning on Tuesday, January 12th.

As part of the federally mandated inspection program, the Casco Bay Bridge will undergo an inspection on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that may include up to three additional openings lasting no longer than five minutes per opening per day. These additional openings will occur between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. only. There will be no impact to marine traffic.

Reminder - Work to Begin on Route 201 Overpass on I-95 in Fairfield

Reminder - The northbound lane closure will occur mid-day today.

Fairfield ? The I-95 southbound bridge which spans Route 201 in Fairfield is undergoing a deck replacement that will impact motorists beginning on Monday, March 7th.

Crews will be installing signs and performing work in the median which will restrict traffic to a single lane in both the north and southbound directions. Motorists are advised to allow for extra time and to be aware of the reduced speed limits within the work zone. In addition, wide loads will be restricted between Exits 132 and 138.

MaineDOT to Present Proposals to Address Traffic Delays in Wiscasset

Wiscasset ? The Wiscasset Board of Selectmen has invited MaineDOT to present proposals on new, non-bypass alternatives to address major traffic delays and safety concerns in the downtown.

What: Selectmen meeting regarding proposals to address major traffic delays and safety concerns in downtown Wiscasset.

When: Tuesday, March 8th at 6:00 p.m.

Where: Wiscasset Community Center Gymnasium, Route 27, adjacent to the Wiscasset High School

Public Meeting to be Held in Perham

Perham ? An informational public meeting on the replacement of the Spaulding Brook Bridge in Perham will be held at the town office on Thursday, March 17th at 7:00 p.m.

The Spaulding Brook Bridge, carrying High Meadow Road over Salmon Brook, will be closed to traffic during scheduled construction beginning in mid-July of 2017.

Representatives from the MaineDOT will be on hand to discuss the replacement of the bridge this Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Perham Town Office located at 206 High Meadow Road.

I-95 Bridge Work Begins

Pittsfield ? Due to a recent failure of a joint on the bridge that carries I-95 northbound over the railroad in Pittsfield, crews have instituted a lane closure in order to perform remedial work. Additionally, work will be performed to the bridge that is adjacent, carrying I-95 northbound over Route 152. All work is just north of Exit 150.

Traffic will be allowed to flow in both areas using a single lane.

Work began this week with the anticipated completion date of April 8th.

Motorists are advised to stay alert and to reduce speeds within the work zones.

Work to be Performed on the Wiseman Bridge in Lewiston

Lewiston ? Crews will be performing maintenance work on the Wiseman Bridge on Chestnut Street in Lewiston beginning Monday, April 11th.

This work will necessitate a short detour for vehicular traffic utilizing Canal Street, Cedar Street, Lincoln Street and Main Street.

During the approximately four week closure, pedestrian access to the bridge will be maintained as crews work to repair the concrete on the arches of the bridge as well as repairing the sidewalk, curbing and bridge deck.

Bridge Testing to Begin on the Piscataqua River Bridge

Kittery ? Crews will be performing bridge testing on the Piscataqua River Bridge in Kittery beginning on Monday, May 2nd.

The activity will be on the approach to the bridge on the Maine side. Travel will be restricted to two lanes both north and southbound between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The project will take place from Monday, May 2nd through Thursday, May 5th.

Motorists are advised that slight delays are possible.

The Piscataqua River Bridge carries Interstate 95 over the Pascataqua River connecting Kittery, ME. and Portsmouth, NH.
