Detour on Route 175 in Blue Hill for Culvert Replacement

Blue Hill ? Crews will be replacing an in-stream culvert on Route 175 in Blue Hill beginning on Tuesday, September 27th.

The project location is .44 of a mile north of the Brooklin/Blue Hill town line in Blue Hill near Lichen Lane.

Due to that section of road being closed for this activity, a detour of 5.6 miles will be set up utilizing High Street in Brooklin to Hales Hills Road in Sedgwick to Route 172.

Message boards are currently in place to alert drivers.

It is anticipated all work will be completed on Thursday, September 29th.

Bridge Work to Begin on I-95 Southbound in Augusta

Augusta ? Bridge work will be taking place on Interstate 95 southbound at mile marker 112 in Augusta beginning on Tuesday, September 27th.

All work will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Crews will be replacing a concrete bridge header on the Bond Brook Bridge that will necessitate a lane closure over the bridge. Motorists are advised of a lower speed limit within the work zone and to use caution when traveling in this area.

It is anticipated all work will be completed on Thursday, September 29th.

Light Poles Being Removed from Penobscot Bridge

Bangor ? Today, crews are removing the light poles from the Penobscot Bridge which links Bangor and Brewer and spans the Penobscot River.

One lane will be closed on either side of the bridge at a time. Motorists should use caution when traveling over the bridge.

The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

The deteriorated light poles are being removed, with new poles to be installed at a later date.

This one-day project is expected to be completed by 6:00 p.m. today (Monday, September 26th).

I-95 Overnight Paving Operations in Sidney to Begin

Sidney ? Crews will be paving the on and off-ramps on Interstate 95 north and southbound in Sidney beginning Sunday night, October 2nd.

The current schedule is as follows:

On Sunday, October 2nd, Monday, October 3rd and Tuesday, October 4th, Exit 120 southbound on and off-ramps will be closed between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. for paving. If this work is completed, the northbound on and off-ramps will also be closed from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

This work is weather dependent. If need be, work will be done the following evening during the same hours.

Piscataqua River Closure to Begin October 10

Kittery - The Piscataqua River, in the vicinity of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in Portsmouth, NH, will be closed to all marine traffic for a 7-day period from 9:00 a.m. on October 10, 2016 to approximately 9:00 p.m. on October 16, 2016.

The river closure will enable the Maine Department of Transportation and Cianbro Construction to remove the existing lift span and is necessary to provide for the safety of all waterway users and construction workers during the operation.
