I am pleased to share that Governor Janet Mills has appointed Sandra Darby, Maine Bureau of Insurance (BOI) Property and Casualty Actuary, as Acting Superintendent of Insurance effective August 18, 2026.
We extend our appreciation to Tim Schott, who served as Acting Superintendent from June 8 – August 17, 2026, and will be departing the Bureau to assume a position with the Office of the Maine Attorney General (OAG). We thank Tim for his 17 years of dedicated service to the Bureau, most of which were spent as the Deputy Superintendent, and wish him well in this next role.
