Homeowners Policy Comparison

The table below provides links to downloadable examples of homeowners, renters and condominium policies.  The companies listed are in the 10 largest insurance groups that provide Homeowners insurance products in the State of Maine, based on 2022 market share data. The table also provides links to companies’ underwriting guidelines and indicates whether those guidelines contain rules that would deny coverage based on dog breed.

Please keep in mind:

  • These documents are provided for general reference and this list is not a recommendation or endorsement of a specific policy or company.

  • Other forms and endorsements that are part of your insurance contract may impact your specific coverage.
  • Insurers have their own underwriting guidelines that determine when they will or will not issue a policy. For example, some insurers will not write a policy to a homeowner who owns a certain breed of dog.
