Park Accessibility

Everyone deserves a great day in nature. Here's how we're making sure that includes you.

Service Dogs and Pets

Working service dogs are welcome in the park, but please make sure they’re under control at all times. Please let staff at the front gate know about your service dog and be prepared to pick up after them. If they bark and disturb the wildlife, they may be asked to leave.

No other pets are permitted, including emotional support animals. Please don’t leave them in your car, there’s very little shade.

Wheelchairs

We have some wheelchairs available, but to be sure you have one for your visit, please call (207) 822-6460 or email mainewildlifepark@maine.gov and reserve one before your visit.

Parking and Pathways

Accessible parking is by the main entrance. Most of our main pathways are paved or well-maintained gravel, but please be advised that some areas may experience washouts during periods of heavy rain. Repairs and improvements are in progress. Staff are happy to guide you if needed.

You can view the park map showing paved and wheelchair-friendly pathways (PDF) to help plan your visit. Staff are also happy to provide guidance upon arrival.

Seating and Rest Areas

Benches and shaded rest areas are located throughout the park. Take it easy out there.

Need Assistance?

Our staff are the best. They’re happy to answer questions or help anyway they can. Stop by the gate or call (207) 822-6460 or email mainewildlifepark@maine.gov before your visit.
