Wildlife Care Internship

From May through August (8am-2pm, 2-3 days a week), wildlife care interns work alongside our keeper team, gaining hands-on experience in animal husbandry, enrichment, habitat care, diet prep, browse collection, and visitor education. Under the guidance of the assistant superintendent, interns learn what it really takes to care for Maine’s wildlife in a professional setting. This is an unpaid internship, but the hands-on experience, mentorship, and real-world wildlife work are anything but small.

The application for 2026 spring and summer internships is closed. Applications for the 2027 season are expected to open in February 2027, follow us on Facebook for updates. Thank you for your interest!
