Section 65 Cost-of-Living Adjustments: Rates Corrected & Implemented
Last week, MaineCare identified an error in the rate calculations for Section 65 that we implemented with an effective date of January 1, 2026. The correct rates are now implemented for billing, and the fee schedule is updated on the Rate Setting page of the Health PAS Online portal.
Adjustment Guidance for Dates of Service January 1, 2026 – January 13, 2026
- Providers must adjust all claims that were billed and paid with charges below the new rates within one year of the original payment date. To avoid timely filing denials, please adjust the oldest dates of service first.
- MaineCare will adjust claims that were billed and paid at or above the new rates.
