Mental Health First Aid Training Opportunity for Caregivers of Section 19 Members

The Office of Aging and Disability Services is excited to announce a virtual training opportunity, De-escalation Training, scheduled for November 15, 2023. This training is being provided under collaboration with National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Maine and is available for caregivers providing care to Section 19 members. Caregivers can include personal support staff, attendants, home health aides, nurses, or other natural and family supports.  

De-escalation training for Caregivers will help build understanding of the signs and impacts of someone who is escalated. Training will support participants to gain tools and techniques to assist with de-escalating situations. 

Registration will be limited to 30 participants and the deadline to register is November 10, 2023. Details of the training are below:
