Attention Section 2, Adult Family Care Homes (AFCHs) Room and Board Rate Update for January 1, 2024, CR 122824

As part of the Department’s regularly scheduled annual updates, MaineCare has increased the Section 2, AFCH room and board rate, effective January 1, 2024. The new rate of $1,352.00 was implemented on February 7, 2024.

Adjustments for affected claims:  

• The Department will adjust claims that were submitted at or above the new rate for dates of service January 1, 2024 through February 6, 2024, and no provider action is needed.  
• Providers will be responsible for adjusting claims with charges that were submitted below the new rate, for the same date span noted above. Per policy, and to avoid timely filing denials, adjustments must be submitted within 120 days of this notice. Please focus on older claims first.
