Attention Residential Care (PNMI-C) Facilities: CoreQ Resident and Family Satisfaction Survey Pilot

Please express interest by April 19, 2024

Introduction:

Person-reported outcomes (PROs) are an important way for organizations, providers, and facilities to assess their success in meeting the person-centered needs of patients and residents under their care.  While some nursing home facilities are collecting CoreQ data as one of their quality measures, most residential care facilities are not.

This is an initiative whose goal is to introduce a PRO to Maine’s residential care facilities (PNMI-Cs) in preparation for a value-based payment model (VBP) that will potentially link reimbursement to quality in the future. This is an initiative whose goal is to introduce a PRO to Maine’s residential care facilities (PNMI-Cs) in preparation for a value-based payment model (VBP) that will potentially link reimbursement to quality in the future.

What this initiative will provide to participating facilities:

  • New information and support for facility staff in quality assessment, data collection and analysis, and quality improvement
  • Current information regarding resident satisfaction with staffing, overall care, and willingness to refer to friends and family
  • Up to $10,000 to support the cost of participating in the pilot, including staff involvement, survey completion and interaction with the Department’s technical assistance contractor
  •  Reports from CoreQ team, summarizing results of CoreQ surveys

What this initiative requires from participating facilities:

  • A 12 to 15-month commitment to the CoreQ implementation pilot
  • The participation of one or more staff to participate in technical assistance webinars presented by national experts in the delivery of high-quality care in nursing and residential care facilities.
  • Identification of one individual who will identify and provide lists of residents appropriate for resident satisfaction survey completion, with their contact information.  Survey will be completed twice during time of involvement.
  • Identification of one individual who will identify contact information for family members of residents who do not qualify for resident survey, based on cognitive deficits, for completion of family satisfaction surveys. Survey will be completed twice during time of involvement.
  • Commitment to support residents in completion of resident satisfaction surveys. Survey will be completed twice during time of involvement.
  • Feedback to CoreQ team regarding CoreQ survey implementation within facility, providing suggestions for improvement.
