Action Needed – A New Online Portal is Coming September 2026: YOU Need to Confirm Your Login Information NOW to Make the Transition Easier!
The Office of MaineCare Services (OMS) is excited to share that a refreshed and upgraded MIHMS is launching in late September 2026! The upgraded MIHMS will bring enhanced security, improved usability, and a more modern experience that will better support your day-to-day work. The upgrade will include a new “MaineCare Partner Portal” that will replace what is known today as the “HealthPAS Online Portal.” Please note that we will continue using the name “HealthPAS Online Portal” in communications related to current functionality.
This message is the first in a series about changes to how users will log into the new portal and what you can do to get ready for these changes.
A key security feature of the new portal is the requirement that each user must have their own, unique email address.
What do I need to do?
Is your organization using the same email address for multiple user accounts?
No: You do not need to take any action.
Yes: If your organization currently has multiple user accounts using the same email address:
- Individual users: Update the email address on any account you use that currently shares an email address with another user/account. To do this, log into the account(s), go to Account Maintenance, and edit the email address.
- Portal users with Manage User (R7)/Administrator access: Review user accounts and deactivate any accounts that your organization no longer needs. After logging in, go to Account Maintenance → Manage Users to view the list of users. You can edit, deactivate, or reactivate existing users by selecting the appropriate row.
We are preparing to migrate users from the current portal to the new portal, where possible. We can’t migrate users who share an email address with other users. Your timely participation NOW helps ensure that you have uninterrupted access when the new portal goes live.
What else is OMS doing to prepare user accounts right now?
In addition, as part of our preparation, we have deactivated accounts that have been inactive for an extended period. Users with Manage User (R7)/Administrator access can reactivate accounts if needed.
As a reminder, practice/organization Administrator(s) are responsible for deactivating user accounts promptly when they are no longer needed, e.g., when a user leaves the practice/organization or changes roles.
More information:
Updates about the new system will be posted on the HealthPAS Online Portal in the “MaineCare Information” section of the homepage. In addition, we will continue to send e-messages when you need to take action.
