Windham - In order to pave the new roundabout on the River Road in Windham, a portion of the road will be temporarily closed Sunday, September 20th from 6 pm to 6 am. If weather prevents paving Sunday night, the closure will be postponed until later that week. To minimize commuter congestion during a weekday, the closure would begin at 7 pm and the road will reopen at 6 am. Travelers will be required to follow the marked detour signs.
This roundabout is part of a two-year, $5.6 million project that included 6 miles of road reconstruction and intersection improvements at Windham Center Road. Additional paving will continue through October and the project is scheduled for completion in mid-December.
