Traffic Sensor Work on Route 1A in Frankfort

FRANKFORT - The Maine Department of Transportation will be working on traffic count sensors in Frankfort throughout the day tomorrow. The sensors are on both sides of Route 1A north of the intersection with County Road. These sensors allow MaineDOT to accurately count the number of vehicles that use this road throughout the year. Work will begin at 9:00 a.m. We will start on the northbound side, which will involve closing the northbound lane. Work will then progress to the southbound side, which will involve closing the southbound lane. Drivers should expect an alternating single lane of traffic. We expect this work will take no more than five hours. This work is weather-dependent; the rain date is July 15th.
