Route 201 to Shutdown on Friday

From the Department of Public Safety:

State Police will be overseeing the removal of a wind turbine tower along Route 201 in Johnson Mountain Township on Friday, about halfway between The Folks and Jackman.

The work will begin at 7 AM and will continue for most of the day. Troopers expect Route 201 to be completely shut down for most of the afternoon as cranes will be used to lift the windmill section onto a trailer.

Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes, namely Route 27 from Kingfield or Routes 6 and 15 from Greenville. The tower has been sitting alongside of Route 201 since Monday when the tractor trailer carrying it overturned.
