WHITEFIELD - The Maine Department of Transportation will be installing a large culvert on Route 194 in Whitefield. The project area is approximately three quarters of a mile south of Jewett Lane. This is near the Sheepscot River. Crews will be replacing two 48-inch pipes with one ten-foot pipe. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 12th and be finished by the end of August. This project will involve a full road closure from July 15th to July 29th. Otherwise, drivers will encounter a single-lane, alternating traffic pattern. The contractor on this project is Culvert Rehabilitation Services of Auburn.
