Construction crews are set to begin improvements on the Hotel Road intersection at Young?s Corner in Auburn this Monday, August 23.
Motorists should expect delays at the intersection due to the high volume of traffic and the confined construction area. Traffic will be limited to one-way, alternating traffic regulated by flaggers.
This is a major reconstruction of the entire intersection in all four directions, with reconstruction extending 500 feet from the center of the intersection. Crews will be widening the intersection in order to accommodate turning trucks. Along with clearing trees to improve visibility, crews will be improving drainage and installing a flashing beacon.
Construction is set to begin on Monday, August 23, and if the project proceeds as planned, construction is expected to be complete by the end of November. The project will improve safety at the intersection as well as improve the flow of traffic.
