Brunswick Bridge Inspection to Begin Monday

Brunswick/Topsham ? An inspection on the Frank J. Wood Bridge connecting Brunswick and Topsham is scheduled for Monday, August 1st and Tuesday, August 2nd.

During that time, northbound motorists on Route 201 and Route 24 will be detoured to Route 1 north to Route 196. Southbound traffic will be allowed on the bridge. Traffic will be reopened to both lanes on completion of the inspection each evening.

This additional inspection of the Frank J. Wood Bridge was initiated after the routine bi-annual bridge safety inspection conducted in June prompted the need for a closer inspection. MaineDOT engineers continue to gather data for possible future repairs.
