Bonny Eagle Bridge Open to Traffic

Hollis ? The new Bonny Eagle Bridge, spanning the Saco River on the Hollis/Standish town line, is now open to two-way traffic. Crews have finished construction of the new bridge and will be starting the demolition of the old covered bridge.

Motorists will continue to see construction equipment on the side of the roadway on either of the approaches, with alternating one-way traffic expected to be implemented in a couple of weeks. This is necessary to remove additional equipment and prepare for the demolition of the covered bridge.

Crews will return in the spring to install guardrails and perform landscaping work

This $2.1 million contract was awarded to Wyman & Simpson, Inc. of Richmond.
