SNAP Rule #242A – Income and Deductions Update
The adopted rule effectuates the following updates to Sections 555-4 and 555-5:
- Makes permanent the changes to the treatment of LiHEAP for households with no members who are over age 60 or have a disabling condition that were established in Emergency Rule SNAP 242E.
- Excludes certain stipends that are means tested or necessary for individuals to participate in meetings to improve state programs.
- Makes non-substantive changes for clarity and to correct citations.
The Department determined it necessary to make a non-substantive change to the proposed rule to ensure consistency with 10-144 C.M.R. Chapter 331. The adopted rule reflects the implemented changes at 555-4(6)(B). It updates the provision concerning excluded compensation and reimbursements for participation at meetings to improve state programs.
This rule will have an adverse impact on municipalities or small businesses.
