The Maine Wildlife Park in Gray will open for the 2019 season on Monday, April 15th at 9:30am -- just in time for school vacation! We look forward to seeing new and returning visitors this year.
Charity Softball Game

Join us this Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 1:00pm at Walsh Field in Belfast for a very special charity softball game!
High School seniors from Belfast Area High School will face off against Maine Game Wardens to help raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish Maine and Maine Operation Game Thief!
The Maine Warden Service defeated the Belfast Area High School Team by just one run last year, and Belfast is seeking to avenge last year's loss, with the two teams hopeful they can raise over $28,000.
In addition to the game, there will be raffles, food and drinks and a Jail-N-Bail event. We hope to see you there!
Scouting and Setting up Deer Stands/Blinds *NEW

Backcountry Hunters and Anglers hosts a Field Day with workshops focusing on scouting and setting up stands and blinds. Come look for deer sign and learn from local experts. Event reservations here: https://www.backcountryhunters.org/newenglandbha You must also make an island/ferry reservation.

5K & 10K Road Races on Swan Island, Kennebec River, Richmond!

Time: 7:30 AM
Time: 7:30am - 12:00pm Space Limited: First 100 people Fee: $25.00 Pre-register online at www.richmondmaine.com. Board the ferry at 7:30 a.m. (maybe 8am, TBD) to be ferried over to Swan Island. Race kicks off at 9:00a.m. This year the 10K traverses the scenic gravel road from the campground to the southern end of the historic island and the 5K goes to the northern end.
Mentored Deer Hunt
Date: October 5, 2019
Time: 6:00 AM
10 preselected first time deer hunters who have been mentored by IFW staff will take to the field on the island today with their mentor. A tagging station will be set up at the campground to register an collect biological data from harvested deer. The public is welcome to come and ask questions of staff. Public access will be restricted south of the wildlife viewing tower for the day.
