Effective January 1, 2024, MaineCare Benefits Manual, Section 5, Ambulance Service rates have been updated in MIHMS to reflect 100% of the most current Maine Medicare area 99 urban, rural, or super rural rate.

Payments to approximately 80 facilities to support direct care staff
AUGUSTA— The Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced today that it has issued $19 million in one-time Medicaid (MaineCare) payments to Maine nursing facilities to support their continued recovery from the pandemic, particularly for direct care staff who tend to the health and wellbeing of residents.
The EVV requirements for Home Health providers delivering services under Section 40 were implemented on January 1, 2023.
We continue to offer weekly provider and aggregator trainings. All trainings are online via Microsoft Teams.
NOTE: The Absorb training system has been updated to allow providers to register for trainings more than once.

Billing providers must include the National Provider Identifier (NPI) of an enrolled MaineCare practitioner who is ordering, prescribing, or referring on their claims to receive reimbursement for the categories of services listed below. These practitioners are known as NOPRs and must enroll in MaineCare independently or as part of an organization.
