Five County Credit Union to amend bylaws and expand field of membership

Five County Credit Union, Bath, Maine, has requested permission to amend its bylaws to expand its field of membership, in accordance with Title 9-B M.R.S. § 848.

Five County Credit Union is a community credit union whose field of membership consists of: Persons who live, work, or worship in the counties of Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Somerset, and Waldo; including members of their immediate family or household members, and organizations of such persons within the credit union’s field of membership.

The proposed bylaw amendment adds four counties to its field of membership: Franklin County, Oxford County, Penobscot County, and Piscataquis County. The Maine Bureau of Financial Institutions reviewed the documentation submitted by Five County Credit Union in support of its request for a rural district field of membership and considered rural district guidelines established by the National Credit Union Administration, as set forth in 9-B M.R.S. § 814.

As a result of that review and analysis, the Bureau approved the request to expand the field of membership by adding the requested counties. Therefore, the community field of membership for Five County Credit Union is amended to include: persons who live, work, or worship in Androscoggin County, Cumberland County, Franklin County, Kennebec County, Knox County, Lincoln County, Oxford County, Sagadahoc County, Somerset County, Penobscot County, Piscataquis County and Waldo County, including members of their immediate family or household members, and organizations of such persons within the credit union’s field of membership.

Any person aggrieved by this final agency action shall be entitled to judicial review, pursuant to the provisions the Maine Administrative Procedures Act, Title 5, Chapter 375, Subchapter 7 (5 M.R.S. §§ 11001-11008).
