What is the legal annual report filing deadline?

    The legal annual report filing deadline is June 1st.

Who is required to file an annual report?

    All business entities and nonprofit corporations filed with the Secretary of State's office are required to file the first annual report between January 1st and June 1st of the year following the calendar year in which they were filed with the Secretary of State's office. Subsequent annual reports must be delivered to the Secretary of State between January 1st and June 1st of the following calendar years.

What will happen if I fail to pay the late filing penalty?

    Failure to pay the late filing penalty will result in the administrative dissolution of domestic entities and the revocation of the authority for foreign entities to transact business in the State of Maine.
