Department of Professional and Financial Regulation
Commissioner Cohen leads the Department of Financial Regulation’s efforts to protect the citizens of Maine through the regulation of State-chartered financial institutions, the insurance industry, grantors of consumer credit, the securities industry, and numerous professions and occupations providing services to the public. Commissioner Cohen joined the Department as Deputy Commissioner in 2019 and is a former Maine lawmaker with deep experience in law and public policy.
