MaineCare has updated Section 4, Ambulatory Surgical Center Services, to reflect 100% of the most current year Medicare rates.
MaineCare revised Section 90, Physician Services rates in alignment with Medicare reimbursements effective January 1, 2023. New rates were implemented on April 13, 2023. You may view all codes and rates on the Usual, Customary and Reasonable (UCR) fee schedule.
Adjustment of affected claims:
Effective January 1, 2024, MaineCare has updated the Anesthesiology conversion factors for Section 14, APRN Services and Section 90, Physician Services codes. New rates were implemented on February 14, 2024.
The Office of Aging and Disability Services is excited to announce a virtual de-escalation training opportunity scheduled for April 16, 2024. This training is being provided under collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Maine and is available for caregivers providing care to Section 19 members. Caregivers can include personal support staff, attendants, home health aides, nurses or other natural and family supports.
On October 13, 2023, MaineCare provided notice that it had initiated a Rate Determination Process* for Dental Services. Existing benchmarks are being rebased pursuant to MRS Title 22, §3173-J.

As communicated on February 23, 2024, Change Healthcare is experiencing a network interruption related to a cyber security issue. This is a national issue affecting health care systems and Medicaid programs in many states, including Maine.
On March 7 and 8, 2024, MaineCare held a two-part, online public meeting with its vendor, Guidehouse, to present the recommended draft rate methodology and rationale for NFs. Interested parties asked questions and made public comments during these forums.
