Important Trail Notice: The following multi-use Rail Trails will be open starting tomorrow, May 18, 2024:

-Aroostook Valley Trail (Aroostook County) -Bangor & Aroostook Trail (Aroostook County) -Southern Bangor & Aroostook Trail (Aroostook County) -Whistle Stop Trail (Jay to Farmington)

Please note that there are sections of the Whistle Stop Trail that will remain closed due to storm damage sustained last fall. All other Rail Trails remain closed while work is being completed. Please obey all posted signage and ride safe.

Important Trail Notice: The Androscoggin Riverlands ATV trail will be OPEN for the season today, May 15, 2024. Please obey all signage and ride safe.


May 10, 2024

Important Trail Notice: Most of the Down East Sunrise Trail will be OPEN for the season starting May 11, 2024. Please note that many of the side trails are still closed, and there are a few sections of the DEST in the East Machias/ Machias area that remain closed until storm damage repairs are completed. Make sure to obey ALL closures and trail signs. Ride Safe.


April 18, 2024

Important trail notice: Just a reminder that ATV trails across the state remain CLOSED for mud season. Please obey all closures to prevent trail damage.


November 22, 2023

Important Trail Notice regarding the Rail Trails: The Whistle Stop trail, Four Seasons Adventure trail, Kennebec Valley trail, and Lagrange rail trail are closed for the season effective immediately, 11/22/23. Please obey posted closures in order to prevent further damage to the trails.


June 30, 2023

Trail Notice: The Whistle Stop trail from Farmington to Rt 2/4 in Wilton has reopened. From Rt 2/4 in Wilton to Jay is closed indefinitely due to extensive washouts.
