WHAT: Unveiling of the new specialty license plate benefitting The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center.

WHO: Governor Paul R. LePage, Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap; Maine legislators; Maine Medical Center President and CEO Rich Petersen and other leaders of The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital; patients and families who worked tirelessly to secure broad-based support and approvals for the license plate.

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 28, at 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Portland Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch office, 125 Presumpscot St., Portland

WHY: To announce availability of the plate starting Oct. 1 and celebrate the efforts of those who worked to bring the plate to production due to the impact the hospital has had on their lives

HOW: Families will share their stories, Gov. LePage will discuss how the license plate reflects First Lady Barbara Bush’s legacy in Maine and Sec. Dunlap will explain the details of how to obtain this new specialty plate from the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles. A large image of the plate, as well as several sample plates, will be on display.
