State Archivist, David Cheever Speaks at the William S. Cohen School about Maine’s involvement in the American Civil War

Presentation to 7th grade students is part of the Secretary of State’s Sesquicentennial for Schools Program

AUGUSTA, Maine ? State Archivist, David Cheever speaks to 7th grade students in Ron Bilancia?s Maine Studies class at the William S. Cohen School in Bangor on February 16, 2012.  Mr. Cheever’s presentation focused on Maine's role in the Civil War and specifically on people from the Bangor area who were involved in pivotal events.

Mr. Bilancia’s students are currently working on an annual webpage project with a focus this year on Bangor during the Civil War.

The Sesquicentennial for Schools Program is part of an ongoing commemoration by the Maine State Archives of the 150th anniversary of the beginning of America’s Civil War.
