There are three categories of law that apply to you while working at a licensed establishment:

  • Criminal Law Violations can result in a fine, jail time, and a criminal record
  • Civil Law Violations can result in a fine or community service
  • Administrative Law Violations can result in fines for the employee and fines and suspension for the licensee
    • Fines for the licensee can be up to $1,500 fine for any one offense and possible license suspension or revocation
    • Fines for the employee, servant or agent, can be up to $1,500 for any one offense

Examples of Administrative violations are: sale to a minor, sale to a Visibly Intoxicated Person (VIP), selling after hours
