The Raymond Village Library is seeking a friendly, reliable, and community-oriented Part-Time Library Assistant to support both Youth Services and Circulation operations. 4) Facility Oversight

  • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of the library building and grounds.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and respond to facility issues in a timely manner.
  • Assess space usage

5) Board Relations

  • Attend and participate in all Board of Directors meetings; present regular activity and financial reports.
  • Collaborate with the Board in developing the annual budget and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new Board members.
  • Advise the Board on policy development and updates.
  • Support the Board in strategic planning efforts to guide the library's long-term goals and initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum Bachelor's degree WITH a minimum of five years of library experience including library administration; or a Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program (preferred).
  • Proven administrative and supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in budget development and financial management.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in public relations, including media outreach, social media, and public speaking.
  • Familiarity with current library technologies and digital media.

Position Details

Full-Time salaried position:

  • Schedule: Average of 35-40 hours per week over five days.
  • Salary: Salary for this position is commensurate with experience and ranges from $70,000-$90,000.

The Freeport Community Library is seeking a Youth Services Assistant Librarian to support circulation and programming operations. This position works closely with children and families and requires someone who is comfortable in an active, fast-paced public service environment.

This is a 36-hour/week, full-benefits position. The work schedule will include one evening per week and seasonal Saturdays. The pay range for this position is $23.09 - $25.19/hour, representing Steps 1 through 3 of the pay scale.

What you'll do:

  • Staff the Lending Services desk and provide customer service to Library patrons of all ages
  • Assist with planning and supporting youth services programming
  • Answer reference and informational questions, and provide Readers' Advisory services
  • Shelve materials and support day-to-day circulation operations
  • Take on special assignments at the direction of the Youth Services Librarian
