The Saco Central Fire Station, built with federal Public Works Administration funding in 1938, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places for its local significance in the development of the city and its association with politics and government. It represents efforts by the local city government to provide modern and efficient fire protection services to its community, as required under the city charter and ordinances.

The Phi Gamma Delta House is an important local building both for its architecture, and for its association with the educational programs of the University of Maine. In the early twentieth century, the University of Maine?s population grew more quickly than its capacity to house its students. Built in 1925, the Phi Gamma Delta House, along with other chapter houses on campus, provided living space for its fraternity brothers, thereby assisting the University of Maine in its mission to provide a college education in Orono.

The Gerald Hotel is a small town hotel which was built with a degree of extravagance and detail more common to larger hotels in major urban centers. The brick and terracotta hotel building was built by Amos F. Gerald in 1899-1900 to designs by Lewiston architect William R. Miller. An attached building at the rear was used as a furniture showroom for the Lawry Brothers, one of two commercial establishments that had store fronts on the first floor of the hotel.

The Colonial Apartments is located on High Street in Bangor, a curved one-block street at the crest of a hill two blocks up from the city?s Main Street. All of the buildings on this street were originally built as high-style residences, between the early nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with the apartment building as the last addition to the neighborhood. Erected in 1919, the six-unit, three story, brick apartment building was designed in the Colonial Revival style by local architect Victor Hodgins (1870-1954).

The Sewall Memorial Church is a notable example of religious architecture in the far eastern Washington County town of Robbinston, Maine. Erected in 1911 to replace an earlier church, the asymmetrically composed, wood-frame building with off-set tower is an example of a form of religious building that became increasingly common after the Civil War, due in part to widely distributed, published plans. Formerly known as the Robbinston Congregational Church, this building is the only example of late Victorian-era religious architecture in this small community.

The Calais Observatory is a site on which was formerly located a United States Coast Survey astronomical observatory. The observatory is located in the far eastern town of Calais, Washington County, Maine, upon an outcrop dome in a residential neighborhood. Marking the site of the observatory are a stone pillar and stone base, both used to support astronomical instruments, as well as two drill holes and a pair of stone pads chiseled out of the granite.

The American Woolen Company Mill is located on East Main Street, beside the Piscataquis River bridge, in the heart of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. The complex includes ten contributing buildings and structures (with additions) ranging in date from 1844 to 1941. Originally called the Mayo & Son Mill, the complex achieved its fully developed state under the ownership of the American Woolen Company in 1941. The complex was occupied by companies that provided employment to a significant number of local residents over a period of 163 years.

The Waterville Main Street Historic District consists of twenty-five buildings, one structure, two objects and two public parks in downtown Waterville, Maine. The District is centered on Main Street and also includes buildings on either side of Common Street, which extends east from Main Street, near the middle of the district. This commercial district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places for its representative significance in the areas of Commerce, and Entertainment and Recreation.

The Androscoggin Yacht Club on Androscoggin Lake in Wayne, is among the oldest surviving yacht club organizations in Maine, and perhaps the oldest such facility located on an inland waterway, still being used for its original function. First incorporated in 1909, the organization purchased land and opened its clubhouse and docks in 1912. The wood frame clubhouse with wraparound porch and generous meeting hall was designed by architect Carl Fuller Davis of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

On January 12th, 1973, the Wiscasset Historic District was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Referred to as ?the Prettiest Village in Maine?, Wiscasset is a coastal town on the Sheepscot River that flourished in the years before Maine statehood (1820). It then stalled, both economically and architecturally, in the middle and late decades of the 19th centuries.
