Summary

These orthoimagery data may be used for any municipal mapping purposes in the City of Auburn, within the confines of the scale and accuracy noted below.

Description

These data are orthoimagery for the City of Auburn, collected April 14, 1998, with a pixel resolution of 12" (0.3m). The data were collected by James W. Sewall Co. from a flying height of 3600' to create orthoimagery of a 1:7200 scale. The data meet the NMAS for 1"=100' maps with 2' contours.

The source projection was Maine State Plan West, NAD1983/GRS1980. Vertical datum is NAVD88. Source units were US Survey feet. For the purposes of this WMS, the data were converted to metric units.

Standard procedure dictates that photogrammetric maps be field-checked prior to use.

This WMS is provided by the Maine Office of GIS and the Maine GeoLibrary Board.

Description The imagery were provided as 4-band TIFFs and 3-band SID files by the City of Auburn. No metadata was available, but contact prints were available which indicated the projection, scale, and date information. The SID files were compiled into WMS by the Maine Office of GIS,
