The Maine Office of State Fire Marshal maintains MEFIRS in conjunction with the Maine EMS office. MEFIRS is the statewide system that contains Fire, EMS and Maine Forest Service reporting systems in one location. For questions on EMS reporting, please contact Maine EMS.
In 2017, our free state fire reporting process transitioned to an online reporting system (MEFIRS) developed by ImageTrend. To view the MEFIRS Elite system specifications, please select the following link: Elite specifications (PDF, 4 pages, 584 KB). Our office will no longer support the USFA NFIRS software, so no new NFIRS accounts will be activated. Fire departments need to report fire incidents either by exporting data files from a third-party software to Richard Taylor, or by having a MEFIRS account.
