This learning series will focus on the basic components of literacy instruction that most commonly need intervention level supports from paraprofessionals. Practical SEL Strategies for Ed Techs:  Enhancing Student Emotional Regulation in Support Settings

This 4 part series will build a foundation for social emotional learning and will focus on:

*Understanding Responsive and Reactive Learners PreK-12th grade

*Understanding the differences between positive, negative and neural behavioral reinforcements and why tangible reinforcements for behavior often fall short of providing students with the life long skills required to be leaders of their own learning. 

*Recent brain science to support optimal learning.

* Introduction to brain based mindfulness practices. 

 *Pre-learning activities to assist with optimal attention and focus.

 *Foundation for restorative practices,  reinforcing relationships between Ed Techs and their students.

Effective Family Engagement This two part learning series will focus on Effective Family Engagement strategies across all grade spans.  Part one will identify mind-set beliefs and thinking about their effects on current practices.  Part two will identify practices working with families from various ethic/religious backgrounds and being culturally responsive to all families.
