MLTI 2.0

The Maine Learning Technology Initiative 2.0 is a program within Maine DOE’s Office of Innovation. MLTI 2.0 delivers a state-level holistic technology program to schools. In 2021, first year of implementation, the program served 28,000 students and 2,850 educators. At full implementation, 2023-24, MLTI 2.0 will serve 56,000 students and 5,700 educators in grades 5 through 10. MLTI 2.0 is a set of inter-related dependent supports, measures, services, and activities that, together, build a foundation for a state and local partnership in technology. The program’s long-term goal is to provide the equitable integration of technology for engaging and effective educational experiences. MLTI 2.0 was designed by the 2020 MLTI Advisory Board to close Maine’s digital learning gap by supporting the acquisition of the latest equipment and software, providing rigorous professional learning resources, delivering state-level technology support, and enhancing local management efforts through systematic monitoring and support grounded in continuous process improvement. MLTI 2.0’s program components include professional learning, 1:1 devices, and infrastructure support.
