Residential Care Facilities

Facility Care includes Residential Care facilities that provide shelter and personal care services for adults, also known as private non-medical institutions (PNMIs).

For the latest on the PNMI Initiative, please visit the Office of MaineCare Services website.

The State of Maine requires an assessment to determine an individual’s functional and financial eligibility for Residential Care Services.

Assessments help individuals and families understand what services are available to them and to plan for service needs.
