For information on obtaining a certified or non-certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage record from January 1, 1892 to the present call the Vital Records office at 1-207-287-3181. Divorce records from 1892 through the present may be obtained at the same office. The fee for a certified copy is $15.00 and $6.00 for each additional copy of the same record received in the same order, $10.00 for non-certified (not a legal copy). Beginning July 1st, 2015 office hours are from 9-4, Monday through Friday.
Requestors must include a copy of your government issued photo ID and proof of your relationship to the record requested or a direct and legitimate interest in the record.
Birth, Death and Marriage records prior to 1892 are located at Maine State Archives, telephone 1-207-287-5790.
