Welcome to the State of Maine Online Absentee Ballot Request Service

This online service is being updated for the November 3, 2020 General Election, and will be turned on by mid-August.

To request an absentee ballot by written application:

  • Registered Maine voters - Use Maine Absentee Ballot Application
    Voters who currently live at their Maine voting address, or who are temporarily living away from their Maine voting address, but the temporary address is located within the United States or a U. S. territory

  • UOCAVA Voters - Uniformed Service or Overseas Voters - Use Federal Post Card Application
    • Uniformed Service Voters include:
      • Active duty military members, absent from their Maine voting residence;
      • Merchant marine in active service, absent from their Maine voting residence;
      • Member of the commissioned corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, absent from their Maine voting residence; or
      • A spouse or dependent of a uniformed service voter, who by reason of active duty or service of the member, is absent from their Maine voting residence.
    • Overseas Voters include:
      • US Citizen currently living outside the United States or U.S. territory, whose residence before leaving the US was in Maine;
      • US citizen who has never lived in the United States, but who has a parent who is a qualified Maine voter.
